Major urethane grades include flexible, semi-rigid, rigid and integral skin foams, thermosets, thermoplastic elastomers, paints and coatings, adhesives, binders, and elastomeric fibres. Obviously a variety of processes are required depending on the type of urethane formulation.

Some applications for urethanes are industrial insulation for construction and appliances, roof vents, dormers, door frames, water skis, cable fittings, potting compounds, skate wheels, door panels, bumpers, wood finishes, and adhesives, to name a few.
