Polyurethane Components for Impact Absorption


Allplastics Engineering can supply custom made Polyurethane parts for a diverse range of applications.

Recently Allplastics supplied John Holland Rail with black Polyurethane Bumpers for their newly constructed train repair facilities in Auburn, Sydney. The material was chosen due to its impact strength, ease of manufacture and wear as well as resistance to a wide variety of lubricants and chemicals that are used in the railway overhaul workshops.





Polyurethane are engineered elastomers that can be cast into sheets, tubes or solid rods as well as being machined to finished components. Polyurethanes are available in different hardnesses from soft to very hard. Some typical applications include:

  • Seals and Wipers
  • Packaging machine rollers
  • Coupling bushes
  • Mining machinery parts
  • Bumpers
  • Forklift rollers
  • Impact cushion pads
  • Filtration Screens

Polyurethane is utilised in situations where the following properties are required:
