From the Vault - Sydney 2000 Torch Cabinet

20 years ago, Sydney was an incredible place to be with the hosting of the 2000 summer Olympics in September as well as the Paralympic games in October.

Whoever had the privilege of living in the harbour city fondly remembers the relaxed atmosphere, incredible volunteers, almost invisible traffic as well as the incredible achievements of athletes participating in many custom-built venues.

At Allplastics we take pride in having supplied several custom machined components and fabricated displays for the venues.

CNC Routing of Engineering and Building Plastics

The Allplastics Engineering division offers a wide range of engineering and building plastics in sheet form. Utilising our 3000 x 2000 CNC Routers we can offer customers with accurately replicated shapes for a diverse range of industries from mining, agriculture, medical, electrical, signage, rail, pharmaceutical, food, material handlings, defence, architecture, marine and much more.

CNC Routing can be an economical option for materials that cannot be lasercut due to the composition of some plastics.

Abrasion Resistant Polycarbonate

We have received a new shipment of Clear Abrasion Resistant Polycarbonate sheets in 3mm, 4.5mm, 6mm and 9.5mm. The highly abrasion resistant surface is an ideal choice where glass is either too heavy or fragile. It has almost half the weight of glass yet 250 times the strength of float glass.

The Lexan MR10 / Polycarbonate mar-resistant sheets are for transparent applications only. Both are backed by manufacturer’s warranties against abrasion, coating failure and breakage. With enhanced UV resistance to protect against yellowing and hazing Polycarbonate sheets provide a longer service life for high profile architectural glazing projects.

As most users are aware while acrylic has a wonderful range of applications and advantages, it can be susceptible to scratching in heavy traffic situations or due to constant cleaning / rubbing.
